Overview
Senior Software Engineer responsible for development and maintenance of the x360Sync macOS agent (a native desktop application) on ConnectWise’s x360Sync team.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and maintain features in the x360Sync macOS agent using C++ with Swift and Objective-C for macOS-native integrations.
- Debug and resolve production issues with deep investigation across the application stack and macOS system APIs.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions with technical recommendations for macOS best practices.
- Write clean, well-tested code and take part in code reviews.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver features on schedule with quality.
- Improve engineering standards, internal tooling, and development processes.
- Scope and break down complex problems into well-defined tasks and document technical decisions.
What you'll need
- Solid professional experience writing C++ in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of macOS internals, frameworks, and platform APIs such as NSFileProvider and FSEvents.
- Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C for macOS-native development.
- Experience debugging complex, multi-threaded, or multi-process applications.
- Experience with development workflows including Git, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for distributed teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote or hybrid environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with file sync, backup, or storage-related products.
- Familiarity with Windows desktop development.
- Exposure to cross-platform C++ codebases targeting macOS and Windows.
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
- Background in developer tooling, performance profiling, or low-level system programming on macOS.
