Senior Software Engineer, Data Processing

Overview

Senior Software Engineer responsible for owning a platform, processing domain, or multi-team data capability for healthcare data processing. The role combines architecture, hands-on engineering, reliability, scalability, and cross-team technical leadership.

What you'll do

• Own a platform, processing domain, or multi-team data capability.
• Define and document domain architecture and technical roadmaps.
• Drive modernization, reliability, scalability, and cost programs.
• Resolve recurring incidents, cost escalations, and data-quality defects.
• Influence multiple teams through design reviews, architecture, and prototypes.
• Set engineering standards and mentor SDE2 and SDE3 engineers.
• Write code, build prototypes, and debug critical-path systems.

What you'll need

• 7 to 12 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience owning a platform or domain beyond a single system.
• Deep distributed systems and production-scale data-processing expertise.
• Strong current hands-on coding ability.
• Cloud-native architecture experience on Azure or equivalent.
• Experience with cross-team technical influence and mentoring senior engineers.

Nice to have

• Healthcare, clinical informatics, or other heavily regulated data experience.
• Experience scaling an engineering site or new platform area from zero.
• Experience with governance, lineage, privacy-preserving processing, or large-scale de-identification.
• Public technical writing, conference talks, or sustained open-source contributions.
