Senior Software Engineer (Test Automation) role at U.S. Bancorp India, focused on designing automation frameworks for web and mobile applications and driving quality engineering across Agile teams.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web and mobile applications.
• Create automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Appium, and related automation tools.
• Automate functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop reusable test libraries and utilities to improve testing efficiency.
• Define and implement test strategies, test plans, and quality standards.
• Ensure software quality throughout the SDLC by integrating testing early in the development process.
• Analyze requirements and technical designs to identify test scenarios and edge cases.
• Participate in design reviews and provide quality-focused recommendations.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to enable continuous testing.
• Monitor automation execution results and provide actionable insights.
• Improve release confidence by implementing shift-left testing practices.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
• Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
• Validate fixes and ensure no regression impact across applications.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and Onshore test lead.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices.
• Drive quality engineering culture across teams.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise web and mobile application testing.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
• Strong expertise in Automation Testing: Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestNG or JUnit, and automation framework design.
• Proficiency in one or more languages: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• REST API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Understanding of frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Native Android/iOS testing, hybrid application testing, mobile device and emulator testing, Appium ecosystem and device cloud platforms.
• CI/CD and DevOps: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Git, Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing.
• Test management: Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or equivalent test management tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cypress, Playwright, WebdriverIO, or Robot Framework.
• Familiarity with Behavior Driven Development (BDD): Cucumber, SpecFlow.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications.
• Exposure to microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or k6.
• Understanding of security testing concepts.
• Selenium Grid, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Perfecto.
• AI-assisted testing tools.

• Location: Chennai, India.
• Work mode: Must work from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
• Shift timings: 11 AM - 8 PM.
