Senior Software Engineer - (Java & DSA)

Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Java & DSA) to build and scale Okta Recovery Vault, a real-time system for soft-delete and object recovery of identity data.

What you'll do

• Own technical design and end-to-end implementation of granular and bulk recovery workflows.
• Design and build core components for real-time recovery that capture deletion events and restore data.
• Implement relationship restoration for group memberships, app assignments, and related state.
• Add secure logging and tracking for recovery operations to Syslog for audit/compliance.
• Partner with Product Managers and technical leads to clarify requirements and scope.
• Participate in on-call, troubleshoot production issues, run root cause analysis, and improve observability.
• Deliver code quality via reviews, automated testing, and technical documentation.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with production-grade applications.
• Strong Java object-oriented programming skills and experience with Spring Boot.
• Distributed systems experience including asynchronous job processing and event-driven architectures.
• Relational database and caching proficiency (MySQL and Redis).
• Experience designing and maintaining robust RESTful APIs for enterprise integration.
• Ability to independently break down ambiguous requirements into scalable designs.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
