Senior Software Quality Engineer

Overview

NCR is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join its Retail Engineering team in Chennai, delivering quality products through software testing and quality assurance.

What you'll do

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners on requirements.
• Develop test strategies, test plans and test cases.
• Write robust code and write functional and performance test suites.
• Perform automation and functional testing.
• Ensure quality of the product being delivered.
• Solve complex problems in tight timeframes.
• Communicate and operate well across a large organization.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of proven experience in software quality engineering from a multi-national company.
• Strong coding skills in programming languages like Java, C# and TypeScript.
• Automate REST APIs using the Rest Assured library.
• Experience in all the testing types used in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience authoring test cases in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
• Proficient in using AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, and ChatGPT to enhance engineering productivity and software quality.
• Leverage Generative AI for test case design, test data creation, automation development, and defect analysis.
• Utilize AI-assisted techniques to improve test coverage, optimize regression suites, and enhance testing efficiency.
• Apply AI tools for debugging, root cause analysis, code reviews, and risk identification while ensuring quality standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant subject areas, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

• Experience working on retail or hospitality applications.
