Senior Staff Backend Engineer - (K8)

Overview

Lead backend and infrastructure engineering across multiple platform teams, building scalable, reliable, and efficient systems. Partner with product and technical leaders to solve complex infrastructure problems and guide engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Architect workload and service management infrastructure.
• Develop critical infrastructure components hands-on.
• Define roadmaps for scalable application infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance on critical projects.
• Hire and develop technical leaders and senior talent.
• Investigate system issues and address root causes.
• Collaborate with technology leaders to improve service extensibility.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Recent experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Fluency in Java, Go, or Python.
• Experience with Amazon EKS.
• Experience delivering mission-critical systems.
• Experience developing senior individual contributors globally.
• Cloud computing experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and gRPC.
• Understanding of operating system kernels and distributed systems.
• Experience with Kafka, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
• Proficiency with ML infrastructure and deployment frameworks.
