Senior Staff Engineer, Power Electronics System Application Engineering

Overview

Lead the design, development, validation, and manufacturing support of MW-scale power conversion systems for industrial applications, including solar inverters and battery energy storage systems.

What you'll do

• Design and develop high-power DC-AC and DC-DC conversion products.
• Apply thermal modelling and design cooling systems for high-power equipment.
• Design and integrate subassemblies such as busbars, heatsinks, and PCB assemblies.
• Collaborate with suppliers to support manufacturability, quality, and cost optimisation.
• Conduct design verification, qualification, reliability testing, and performance validation.
• Manage product development from concept and simulation through prototyping, industrialisation, and production support.

What you'll need

• 10–12 years of experience designing, developing, validating, and manufacturing high-power power electronic products.
• Experience with MW-scale systems, including solar inverters or battery energy storage systems.
• Knowledge of IGBTs, SiC devices, DC-link capacitors, sensors, gate drivers, and protection architectures.
• Experience with PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, ANSYS, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PCB design software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within challenging timelines.
