Senior Staff Software Engineer

Overview

Senior Staff Software Engineer providing technical leadership across engineering teams, systems, and business domains. The role focuses on architecture, technical strategy, complex initiatives, and reliable operation of large-scale software systems.

What you'll do

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and secure software systems.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives from discovery and design through production.
• Design backend services, APIs, integrations, platform capabilities, and distributed systems.
• Influence technical strategy, roadmaps, architecture standards, and prioritization.
• Establish engineering practices for testing, CI/CD, monitoring, security, and operations.
• Mentor Staff Engineers, senior engineers, and technical leads.
• Participate in production support, incident reviews, and reliability improvements.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience leading technical work across multiple teams or complex domains.
• Strong experience with backend services, APIs, integrations, data flows, and cloud architectures.
• Proficiency in a modern language such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Kotlin.
• Knowledge of system design, architecture, scalability, reliability, observability, and security.
• Experience with cloud platforms, databases, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and production operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with telephony, contact centers, IVR, voice systems, or customer communications.
• Experience with platforms such as Twilio, Amazon Connect, Genesys, Five9, NICE, Cisco, or Avaya.
• Experience in fintech, financial services, lending, risk, or another regulated environment.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or using AI-enabled engineering tools.
