Senior SW Engineer - Python/Java, API, Angular/React, Cloud, DevOps

Overview

Senior Software Engineer on Visa's Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team, building and operating secure, scalable, highly available cloud platforms, Kubernetes platforms, automation frameworks and cloud governance solutions used across Visa.

What you'll do

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population, influencing Visa's internal standards for scalability, security and reusability.
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Design, build and manage data ingestion pipelines using OpenSearch, Kafka and Druid with open-source packages.
• Design and build applications in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and build Python-based applications for automation and task management.
• Ensure data integrity, quality and security throughout the data lifecycle end-to-end on open-source platforms.
• Build multiple data pipelines to ingest unstructured data in real time for advanced data analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Nice to have

• 3-6 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. M.E/M.Tech, MCA).
• 3-6 years of experience in Python OR Java.
• 3-6 years of experience in REST APIs and working with JSON based integration.
• 3-6 years of experience in UI technologies like Angular JS and React.
• 3-6 years of experience in Ansible and other configuration management tools.
• 3-6 years of experience in Docker and Kubernetes (highly preferred).
• 3-6 years of experience in Cloud Applications (highly preferred).
• Experience with source control systems such as Git.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, platform engineering, or DevOps.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Cloud-based Data Engineering solutions.
• Experience with Container Kubernetes technologies and knowledge of hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge in Generative AI or Generative AI tools.
• Explored practical applications of AI and intelligent automation to improve engineering productivity and infrastructure operations.
• Participated in Agile planning, technical design discussions, demonstrations and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Developed integrations between infrastructure platforms, APIs, databases and enterprise systems.
• Applied good software engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, version control, CI/CD, documentation and observability.

Details

• Location: Bengaluru, India.
• Hybrid position: 2-3 set office days per week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
