Senior Systems/Software Engineer - Performance Test and Analysis

Overview

Lead performance engineering for HPE Alletra MP X10000 Object Storage and File Storage products. Define performance strategy, conduct complex investigations, analyze scalability, and influence architecture across product releases.

What you'll do

• Define performance strategies, KPIs, benchmarks, and release-readiness criteria.
• Design, execute, and automate performance and regression tests.
• Lead workload characterization, capacity planning, and benchmark development.
• Analyze and troubleshoot bottlenecks across software, operating systems, storage, and networks.
• Drive root-cause investigations and partner with development teams on resolutions.
• Develop Python automation frameworks, analysis tools, and benchmarking solutions.
• Mentor engineers and represent performance engineering in architecture reviews and escalations.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in performance engineering, storage systems, distributed systems, or related domains.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline.
• Expertise in computer architecture, including CPU, memory hierarchy, NUMA, and I/O subsystems.
• Strong understanding of Linux and operating system internals.
• Experience with distributed systems, storage architectures, networking, and large-scale data platforms.
• Strong Python programming skills for automation, benchmarking, and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of parallel programming, concurrency, scalability, and systems optimization.
