Senior UI Developer

Overview

Design, develop and improve software that provides business, platform and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues, as a Senior UI Developer at Barclays, Assistant Vice President level.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks and tools.
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability and reliability.
• Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives and coach employees, and appraise performance relative to objectives.
• Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
• Identify ways to mitigate risk, develop new policies and procedures in support of the control and governance agenda, and take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
• Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes, and communicate complex information.

What you'll need

• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience of Core Java and J2EE design and development work on large-scale banking applications.
• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience on UI development with a focus on Angular/React JS, React Native.
• Strong webservice development experience using REST.
• Strong understanding of OO designing and programming techniques and associated concepts, data modelling, design patterns.
• Good knowledge and experience of Spring, JavaScript, JDBC and SQL (preferably Oracle).
• Knowledge of modern frontend technologies, including JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3.
• Good working knowledge and hands-on experience of JBoss and Hibernate.
• Good logical reasoning, problem solving and performance tuning skills.
• Minimum qualification: B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent.
• Good communication skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Linux or other UNIX-based systems.
• Knowledge of cloud deployments, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good working knowledge and hands-on experience of workflow application and business rules engine.
• Exposure to and familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
• Cybersecurity and cryptography knowledge.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
• Oracle/NoSQL database experience.
