Software Engineer

Overview

Design, develop and improve software that provides business, platform and technology capabilities for customers and colleagues, leading collaborative assignments as an Assistant Vice President.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks and tools.
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and contribute to the organization's technology communities.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
• Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability and reliability.
• Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
• Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives and coach employees, appraising performance relative to objectives.
• Identify ways to mitigate risk, develop new policies and procedures in support of control and governance, and take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls.
• Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources and communicate complex information to influence stakeholders.

What you'll need

• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience of Core Java and J2EE design and development work on large-scale applications.
• Spring Framework (Core, Boot, MVC, AOP, Security).
• Spring Boot: microservices architecture, auto-configuration, starters.
• RESTful web services development experience (design, development, documentation using RAML/OpenAPI).
• Strong understanding of OO design and programming techniques and associated concepts, data modelling and design patterns.
• Knowledge of modern frontend technologies, including JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of UI development with a focus on Angular/React JS, React Native and micro-frontend architecture.
• Knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration and deployment tools and practices.
• Knowledge of mobile app engineering.
