Job description

Overview

Design, simulate and optimize electrical interconnects for high-speed platforms, boards and packages in Intel's Data Center Group, shaping electrical specifications and industry standards.

What you'll do

  • Develop and optimize signal integrity solutions for high-speed platforms, boards, and packages, ensuring robust performance across complex interconnects.
  • Perform detailed simulations of electrical structures, guiding physical implementation and design trade-offs to enhance product quality.
  • Design and characterize test structures, leveraging high-speed equipment to correlate simulations with real-world measurements.
  • Define signal integrity rules, document characterization reports, and provide guidelines for end customers as part of platform design documentation.
  • Collaborate with IP design teams and system-on-chip (SoC) integration teams to maximize platform-level solution space and meet targeted requirements.
  • Develop electrical specifications and contribute to the establishment of new industry standards for next-generation interfaces.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field and 3+ years of hands-on experience in signal integrity design and analysis OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience OR PhD in a related field with no prior professional experience.
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, ADS) and expertise in analyzing signal integrity parameters such as jitter, crosstalk, and attenuation.
  • Experience with high-speed measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, and time-domain reflectometers.
  • Familiarity with PCB/Package design tools (e.g., Cadence, Mentor Graphics) and layout optimization strategies.

Nice to have

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to debug challenges in high-speed signal environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork across diverse technical domains.
  • Passion for advancing industry standards and driving innovation in signal integrity design.

Details

  • Location: India, Bangalore.
  • Work model: on-site.
  • Shift: Shift 1 (India).
