Overview
The Site Reliability Engineer maintains the production environment with high availability, monitors it, and troubleshoots operational issues, acting as a bridge between Ops, Engineering and Product management to represent the customer point of view.
What you'll do
- Own Incident, Problem, and Change Management to maintain high availability across the cloud-native security infrastructure (SSE/CASB) and global POPs.
- Lead live troubleshooting during major outages, coordinate across engineering teams to restore service fast, and write thorough Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) / RCAs to prevent repeat issues.
- Dig into metrics, logs, and dashboards to spot trends, tune noisy alerts, find performance bottlenecks, and build self-healing automation.
- Write code (Python/Go) and build AI-assisted workflows and agents to automate repetitive operational tasks, incident triage, and diagnostics.
- Write, test, and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures and runbooks for on-call engineers and automated tooling.
- Coordinate planned maintenance windows, production change rollouts, and routine vulnerability patching across commercial and regulated environments.
- Participate in a global, follow-the-sun on-call rotation every few weeks to support the 24x7 production environment.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in SRE, DevOps, or Linux Systems Engineering.
- Solid working knowledge of AWS core services and experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes (EKS).
- Strong Linux systems administration skills and practical experience managing web/proxy servers (Nginx, Apache, Tomcat).
- Hands-on experience setting up dashboards, queries, and alerts using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch/ELK, CloudWatch, and PagerDuty.
- Day-to-day experience with GitHub, configuration management (Ansible or Salt), and deployment pipelines (Jenkins, Harness, ArgoCD, or GitHub Actions).
- Solid grasp of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, proxies, and load balancing.
- Ability to write clean scripts and automations in Python or Go.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Strong interest or practical experience working with LLM APIs, Agentic AI, or tool integrations (like MCP) to solve operational problems.
- A methodical approach to debugging complex distributed systems, paired with clear written communication for incident timelines and RCA documentation.
Nice to have
- Hands-on network administration or troubleshooting experience in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL data stores (Postgres, Redis, Cassandra, Couchbase, CrateDB).
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration engines like Temporal, Cadence, AWS Step Functions, or Airflow.
- Experience using secrets management tools like HashiCorp Vault.
- Prior background in the Cloud Security (SSE, CASB, SWG, DLP) domains.
Details
- Hybrid work model.
- Participation in a global, follow-the-sun on-call rotation every few weeks.
