Overview
Software Architect role on Okta’s Onboarding and Lifecycle Management (LCM) Platform team, focused on services for importing, syncing, and provisioning identities and access policies.
What you'll do
- Design and implement new features and services with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate to define technical strategy and lead prototyping of software components.
- Coordinate complex technical initiatives involving 20+ engineers across sub-teams.
- Work with senior engineering teams on major development projects.
- Drive engineering excellence via robust testing, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Partner with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering for scoping development and deployment work.
- Stay current on identity, security, and distributed systems technologies and industry trends.
What you'll need
- 15+ years of software development in Java.
- Prefer significant experience with Hibernate and Spring Boot.
- Demonstrable experience leading technical projects with 20+ engineers across multiple workstreams.
- 4+ years experience automating and deploying large-scale production services in AWS, GCP or similar.
- Deep understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, and object-oriented principles.
- Infrastructure-level technology knowledge including caching, stream processing, and resilient architectures.
- Relational database experience, ideally MySQL, PostgreSQL or GraphDB.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across functions and distributed teams.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
