Job description

Overview

Develop and maintain CAD software features for digital manufacturing solutions, working across geometric modeling, CAD workflows, and related technologies. Own feature delivery from design discussion through implementation, QA support, release, and initial stabilization.

What you'll do

  • Work directly with the Product Owner to refine requirements, clarify technical feasibility, and explain design options, constraints, and trade-offs.
  • Propose and evaluate design options using approved architecture and standard design patterns.
  • Develop functionality related to geometric modeling, B-Rep and topology operations, assemblies, drafting, data exchange, mold and die workflows, model repair, automation, or CAD APIs, depending on assignment.
  • Analyze the effect of changes on dependencies, persistent documents, and backward compatibility.
  • Improve code structure and maintainability as part of feature delivery.
  • Independently analyze, design, implement, test, and maintain small-to-medium CAD features.
  • Break product requirements into technical tasks, dependencies, and testable increments.
  • Estimate development effort and communicate delivery risks proactively.
  • Own feature delivery from design discussion through implementation, QA support, release, and initial stabilization.
  • Coordinate changes with developers responsible for adjacent components.
  • Investigate and resolve difficult defects within the assigned component.
  • Support QA in test design, defect investigation, and release stabilization.
  • Support customer or field-reported issue analysis related to the owned functional area.
  • Define unit, component, and integration test coverage for features.
  • Apply test-first or automated testing approaches where practical.
  • Use debugging, profiling, and problem-isolation tools to address stability and performance issues.
  • Take responsibility for coding quality, memory behavior, maintainability, and technical documentation.
  • Participate substantively in code reviews and challenge solutions constructively.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring defects within the assigned area.
  • Partner with QA to clarify acceptance criteria and improve testability.
  • Identify improvements to development tools, coding practices, test automation, and team workflows.
  • Contribute reusable technical documentation and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Evaluate appropriate AI-enabled development or automation approaches for the assigned area.
  • Share CAD domain knowledge through demonstrations, code walkthroughs, or technical sessions.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, mechanical, or a related field.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience as a software developer, with a focus on CAD applications or related technologies.
  • Experience delivering software features from design through release.
  • Strong experience in C++, C#, and object-oriented development.
  • Working knowledge of at least one CAD, geometric-modeling, graphics, engineering-software, or manufacturing domain.
  • Practical experience with Agile delivery, source control, peer review, unit testing, and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong C++, C#, object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Good understanding of software design patterns and development lifecycles.
  • Effective debugging, profiling, and problem-isolation skills in a large codebase.
  • Effective understanding of computational geometry and CAD modeling concepts.
  • Understanding of relevant topics such as B-Rep, topology, geometric tolerances, curves and surfaces, visualization, or data persistence.
  • Experience writing unit and automated tests.
  • Ability to use AI-assisted tools while maintaining code-review, confidentiality, and quality requirements.
  • Reliable and self-managing.
  • Structured problem solver.
  • Constructive and evidence-based in technical discussions.
  • Source control tools such as Git.
  • Curious about emerging technologies.
  • Passionate about improving the way engineers work.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
  • Comfortable working across software and manufacturing domains.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
  • Excited by the opportunity to create real business impact through intelligent automation.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degrees.
  • ACIS Kernel experience.
  • Familiarity with CAD kernels, third-party libraries, APIs, or CAD data-exchange formats.

Details

  • Location: Pune (Koregaon Park), India.
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Key deliverables include delivering CAD features independently and predictably, reducing recurring or developer-attributable defects, completing root-cause analysis and preventive action for significant defects, resolving assigned technical investigations without escalation, facilitating at least two relevant knowledge-sharing activities during the review period, and demonstrating measurable adoption of an agreed engineering improvement, automation, or AI-assisted practice.
