Overview
Design, develop, test and maintain custom and configured applications, including low-code Power Platform solutions and custom-coded integrations, within an Agile SDLC framework. Works as a senior developer with less oversight than junior peers, leading specification design and code review and working closely with the Solutions Architect on implementation approach.
What you'll do
- Consult with the Solutions Architect, other developers and end users to gather program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input/output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, and interfaces with other systems (including Power Platform and API-based integrations).
- Design and write program specifications based on consultations with the Solutions Architect, other developers and end users.
- Convert designs and specifications into computer code, using both low-code (Power Apps, Power Automate) and custom-coded (Python, SQL) approaches as appropriate.
- Responsibly use AI-assisted coding tools to improve development velocity, in accordance with team guardrails for code quality and security.
- Compile and build code into programs and correct errors detected during build.
- Create test cases and run tests (unit, integration, UAT) to find errors and confirm the program meets specifications.
- Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs accordingly.
- Write and maintain documentation of changes to code, programs and specifications, including source control practices and dev/test/prod separation.
- Design and code layouts for onscreen user interfaces, reports/dashboards, and interfaces with other systems.
- Lead peer code review and review technical documentation written by others to confirm consistency with program operations.
- Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems or questions with programs.
- Revise programs for corrections, enhancements or system environment changes.
- Own requirements traceability and testing evidence for solutions supporting regulated (GxP) processes.
- Mentor junior developers on coding standards, testing practices and use of AI-assisted tools.
- Train end users or technical support staff to use and support programs.
- Perform other duties as required.
