Software Development Engineer -2 (Mobile)

Overview

Build and optimize high-performance React Native mobile applications for Quince. Own mobile features from development through production release while focusing on scalability, performance, reliability, and user experience.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain mobile applications using React Native.
• Build reusable components and scalable mobile solutions.
• Optimize rendering, startup time, responsiveness, memory usage, and stability.
• Troubleshoot JavaScript, native-layer, iOS, and Android issues.
• Develop tests, debug production issues, and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and engineering teams.
• Share mobile engineering practices and guide junior engineers when required.

What you'll need

• 2–4 years of professional software, frontend, or mobile engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building production React Native applications.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with React Native fundamentals.
• Experience with mobile architecture, rendering, state management, and performance optimization.
• Experience with FlashList, React Native Reanimated, React Native Gesture Handler, and Expo.
• Proficiency with Flipper, React DevTools, and Chrome DevTools.

Nice to have

• Experience building consumer-facing mobile applications.
• Familiarity with JSI, Fabric, and TurboModules.
• Experience integrating native SDKs or working with iOS and Android native modules.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD, observability, crash reporting, or performance monitoring.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or high-scale consumer applications.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
