Overview
Software Development Engineer (P2) in Shared Services within Employee Solutions & Experience (ESE), focused on advancing quality engineering via modern test automation and reusable engineering solutions.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain automated tests, framework components, libraries, and engineering utilities.
- Build automation for browser, API, integration, contract, accessibility, and end-to-end testing.
- Integrate automated tests and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Investigate test failures, flaky automation, environmental issues, and product defects.
- Add logging, metrics, reports, and diagnostic information to automation solutions.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and quality-engineering teams to improve coverage and release confidence.
- Use AI coding assistants to support coding, debugging, documentation, and analysis.
What you'll need
- 2+ years of experience in software development, quality engineering, test automation, DevOps, or a related role.
- Programming experience in one or more of: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or C# (or comparable language).
- Knowledge of software-development fundamentals, design (object-oriented/modular), data structures, debugging, and automated testing.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or similar browser automation.
- Experience with API testing and automated validation.
- Working knowledge of Git, pull requests, code reviews, and build systems/workflows.
- Exposure to Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins (or another CI/CD platform).
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to automation frameworks, shared libraries, or developer tools.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or containerized test execution.
- Exposure to observability platforms including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk.
- Knowledge of performance, security, accessibility, or resiliency testing.
- Familiarity with AI application development, retrieval-augmented generation, structured outputs, or AI evaluation.
- Experience automating previously manual testing processes.
