Software Development Engineer II

Overview

Software Development Engineer II responsible for implementing and testing customer-specific scenarios for F5 AI, BIG-IP, NGINX, and F5 Distributed Cloud, focused on App Delivery and Security.

What you'll do

• Understand product requirements, customer scenarios, architecture, and new feature designs.
• Create and publish technical content and demos for internal teams and customers.
• Implement automated tests and infrastructure for feature coverage across AI security, app delivery & security, and automation categories.
• Develop automated test systems that plug into continuous integration environments.
• Participate in code reviews by posting scripts, incorporating feedback, and reviewing automation from others.
• Analyze and evaluate test results and assist with resolution of product issues.
• Communicate status, plans, and resolutions and deliver against committed schedules.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of professional experience in testing and/or development of computer software, preferably in Linux.
• Strong programming skills in Python for automation, tooling, validation, and security research.
• Good knowledge in security and networking.
• Knowledge of containerization: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in L2/L3 network protocol testing.
• Working knowledge of HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
