Overview

Director-level leader for a data platform engineering team responsible for the core data infrastructure powering the enterprise, in a “platform-as-a-product” model.

What you'll do

• Define and execute a 3–5 year technical roadmap for the Data Lakehouse.
• Lead development of internal SDKs, CLI tools, and automated orchestration frameworks.
• Prototype and benchmark emerging technologies (e.g., specialized Spark extensions).
• Oversee “compliance-by-design” architecture including data lineage, PII masking, and fine-grained access control.
• Facilitate real-time data ingestion by implementing streaming support for Open Telemetry data from AI Agents.
• Set standards for code quality and system design, including architecture reviews and complex outage/performance issue resolution.
• Hire, mentor, and grow the engineering team.

What you'll need

• 15+ years in software engineering and distributed systems.
• At least 4 years managing engineering teams delivering platform-scale initiatives.
• Deep software engineering, system architecture, and scalable production application knowledge.
• Experience in Java/J2EE ecosystem (e.g., Spring Boot, microservices) and Python.
• Experience building/managing platforms/framework engines and APIs supporting data movement.
• Deep understanding of Apache Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta Lake.
• Extensive cloud infrastructure experience including AWS (S3, EMR, Kubernetes, Lambda) and Azure, plus CI/CD automation tools.
