Manager, Software Development

Overview

Manage engineering teams building scalable, secure, and highly available components of a merchant acquiring platform. Lead technical execution and delivery across authorization, clearing, settlement, and interchange processing.

What you'll do

• Lead software engineers through technical direction, coaching, and feedback.
• Own delivery scope, quality, timelines, and technical outcomes.
• Oversee Java-based microservices and API development.
• Translate business requirements into scalable solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Drive design reviews, code quality, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Guide incident reviews and long-term corrective solutions.
• Evaluate AI technologies for engineering workflows, testing, analysis, and product development.

What you'll need

• 14–18 years of software development experience.
• At least 3 years leading engineering teams or serving as a technical leader.
• Hands-on Java and microservices architecture experience.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, SQL databases, and Kafka-based event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP and Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Hands-on CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Strong Agile/Scrum, distributed systems, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Payments, banking, or regulated fintech platform experience.
• Experience with hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
• Experience with AI APIs, engineering metrics, or globally distributed support teams.
• Knowledge of ethical AI, data governance, payment data security, LLMs, NLP, embeddings, RAG, automation, or model safety.
