Software Engineer

Overview

Build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes, to ensure data is accurate, accessible and secure. Join as a Java/Python AWS Engineer, working on digital offerings and delivering technology solutions with fellow engineers, business analysts and stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to required security measures.
• Develop processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
• Design, develop and maintain large-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, microservices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop unit tests to ensure high code quality and maturity metrics.
• Implement scalable solutions using scaled agile methodologies.
• Ensure seamless integration with various stakeholders' systems (business, tech and product).
• Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives and coach employees, and appraise performance relative to objectives.

What you'll need

• Experience with AWS and solving complex business issues.
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. CloudFormation or Terraform).
• Experience with cloud architecture and design.
• Experience with security compliance.
• Demonstrable expertise designing and building with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS and IAM.
• Experience utilising CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket or GitLab to streamline delivery of new features and fixes.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python or Java.
• Working knowledge of Linux, networking, routing and firewalls.
