Software Engineer 4/5 – Model Development and Management, AI Platform

Overview

Software Engineer for Netflix’s AI Platform, focused on Model Development and Management and building the user interface layer that accelerates the ML model creation, evaluation, experimentation, and deployment loop.

What you'll do

• Gather requirements, design, and implement products for accelerating model development across ML use cases.
• Build the UI layer for Netflix’s AI Platform to support the ML core loop.
• Work with applied researchers and data scientists on machine learning initiatives.
• Engage with the ML community to source feedback, identify pain points, and evolve the platform.
• Collaborate with large cross-functional teams on platform development.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering or machine learning experience (with a bachelor’s and master’s degree) or a PhD.
• Strong software engineering background and software design skills.
• Proven experience with distributed applications and ML systems.
• Excellent development skills in Python plus one of Scala, Java, or C++.
• Experience working on modern, large-scale ML services.
• Understanding of the ML lifecycle from data/features to training, experiment tracking, and production deployment.
• Familiarity with ML workflow orchestration, experiment tracking, or feature/data infrastructure (e.g., Metaflow, Airflow, Kubeflow, MLflow).
