Overview
Software Engineer for the Organization Services team, building backend services and APIs that power organization and account lifecycle management, identity/access foundations, and role-based access control.
What you'll do
- Build, test, and maintain backend services and APIs in Kotlin and Java.
- Develop organizational resource models, account lifecycle workflows, and access control features.
- Implement service changes across API updates, schema changes, migrations, tests, deployments, and observability.
- Design solutions with senior engineers for moderately complex distributed systems problems.
- Debug production issues involving distributed services and MySQL/Vitess dependencies and workflows.
- Write technical proposals, implementation plans, and operational notes.
What you'll need
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining production software systems.
- Experience with Java or Kotlin in a production environment.
- Experience building APIs or service interfaces, including compatibility, versioning, and staged rollout basics.
- Knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals including communication, failure modes, retries, latency, and observability.
- Experience with relational databases including schema design, queries, transactions, and data migrations.
- Experience writing automated tests and using code review to improve correctness and maintainability.
