Software Engineer, Banking

Overview

Lead technical design and delivery of banking features at OnePay, driving scalable banking services and real-time money movement for consumers.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and delivery of banking features that scale with the growing customer base and support a seamless mobile experience.
• Set architectural standards and best practices for code quality, performance, security, and reliability across banking services.
• Own the technical approach to complex challenges at scale, including sensitive financial data and real-time money movement.
• Mentor and grow engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on collaboration on tough problems.
• Partner closely with product, design, risk, and compliance to shape the roadmap and turn it into high-quality, shipped software.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for a growing, remote organization.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software engineering, including technical leadership of projects or teams.
• Proven success designing, building, and scaling production-grade APIs and distributed systems, ideally in banking, payments, or other regulated financial services.
• Experience with sensitive financial data and money movement systems, such as ledgers, account management, ACH, or card processing.
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript or similar modern backend frameworks.
• Familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions across teams.
• Drive and proactivity.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile or user-facing applications, ideally React Native.
