Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition - Kochi, India

Overview

Software Engineer for Data Infrastructure & Acquisition on the AI team at Speechify, owning data collection to support model training operations.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and add them to the ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline using GCP and Terraform.
• Collaborate with scientists to improve cost, throughput, and quality for dataset creation.
• Help define the AI team’s dataset roadmap with AI team members and leadership.

What you'll need

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP mentioned).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows.
