Software Engineer I

Overview

Software Engineer I (Mastercard Payment Networks) to design and build customer-facing and backend solutions using cloud-native and scalable engineering practices.

What you'll do

• Estimate and own delivery tasks across design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, and documentation.
• Automate build and operations tasks for software.
• Participate in code/design/process trade-off discussions within the team.
• Support demos and acceptance discussions with product owners and communicate with others as needed.
• Drive adoption of technology standards and practices and review team code, tests, and automation work.

What you'll need

• Solid, hands-on understanding of Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.
• Ability to communicate clearly complex ideas orally and in writing.
• Self-starter who can identify problems or opportunities and implement solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience integrating and building scalable, performing web services.
• Experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of AI and agentic software development.

Nice to have

• Understanding of event-driven architecture and Kafka.
