Software Engineer I, AI

Overview

AI-focused Software Engineer role responsible for building and optimizing machine learning models, RAG systems, and verifiable ML systems for searching and analyzing medical and insurance data.

What you'll do

• Design and optimize systems for batch and real-time processing of large data volumes.
• Design, implement, and optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems for relevant search results at scale.
• Develop embedding models, vector databases, and retrieval mechanisms to improve relevance and reduce latency/costs.
• Create evaluation frameworks to measure quality and improve LLM-based solutions using feedback and performance metrics.
• Build and optimize production-ready, scalable ML and verifiable ML systems.
• Build and optimize agentic systems that reason and make decisions.

What you'll need

• BS in Computer Science (machine learning/AI), Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of industry experience, including recent GenAI technologies.
• Experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and cloud-native ML (e.g., Kubeflow).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• High proficiency in Python and several ML frameworks.
• Experience with AI/ML security and governance requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with medical coding and clinical policy analysis.
• Exposure to USA healthcare insurance.
• Strong understanding of clinical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
