Software Engineer II

Overview

Software Engineer II on the Safety Triage & Insights team, building customer-facing products and platforms for safety event review, driver risk insights, and proactive safety operations.

What you'll do

• Deliver customer-facing features and platform capabilities from design through production.
• Build reliable backend services, APIs, and web experiences.
• Develop AI-powered workflows using LLM tooling, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Make technical tradeoffs across performance, scalability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, ML, and platform teams.
• Use metrics, logs, tests, and tracing to improve system reliability.

What you'll need

• At least 18 months of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating customer-facing production systems.
• Experience across backend services, APIs, and modern web applications.
• Ability to independently own moderately complex projects or features.
• Experience writing maintainable code and reviewing peer code.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in AI-native development, LLMs, and workflow automation.

Nice to have

• Experience building and scaling AI/LLM-powered products in production.
• Experience with Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and AWS.
• Familiarity with observability, rollout practices, and monitoring.
• Experience working with distributed teams in fast-paced environments.

Details

• Remote position open to candidates residing in the United States.
• Full-time employment.
• Annual base salary: $113,645–$191,000 USD.
