Software Engineer II

Overview

Software Engineer II for the EnCore ERP platform, owning end-to-end implementation of discrete features and workstreams.

What you'll do

• Own features and bug fixes from specification through production, including design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Write maintainable C# code using dependency injection, abstractions, and separation of concerns.
• Develop efficient, transaction-safe SQL queries and optimize performance using execution plans.
• Design and implement unit and integration tests to reliably catch real problems across environments.
• Lead code reviews, giving feedback on correctness, testability, security, and performance.
• Investigate performance issues in stored procedures and queries using diagnostics and production data.
• Mentor newer engineers through onboarding, pair programming, and knowledge transfer.

What you'll need

• Advanced proficiency in C# and .NET, including async/await and task-based API concepts.
• Knowledge of dependency injection and constructor-based dependency patterns.
• Competence with SQL including CTEs, window functions, advanced joins, and execution plan interpretation.
• Understanding of transactions, isolation levels, and transaction safety across multiple statements.
• Ability to write safe, rerunnable migration scripts that check current state.
• Testing skills including isolated, repeatable unit tests with fixtures, mocks, and fakes.
• Debugging ability to reproduce production issues and document findings using tools like debuggers and profilers.
