Software Engineer II

Overview

Build core parts of UiPath's Data Fabric platform, a unified data layer that models, stores and federates business data for AI agents and automations. Work mainly on backend services and APIs, with some web UI work.

What you'll do

• Build scalable, well-tested, high-quality code following software development best practices.
• Monitor features in production, debug cross-service issues and help resolve incidents.
• Own features from design to production, with guidance on larger designs, keeping the customer experience central.
• Build platform capabilities that let AI agents and automations discover and use business data through Data Fabric.
• Design, build and optimize scalable, secure services and APIs for the large-scale, multi-tenant Data Fabric platform, focusing on performance, reliability and high availability.
• Build and improve web UI in Angular or React with TypeScript, and connect it to the backend services you build.
• Work well in agile teams, contribute to team alignment and foster collaboration where ideas and knowledge are freely exchanged.
• Use AI tools and coding agents for development (for example, code generation, testing, debugging and documentation) while keeping a high engineering quality bar.
• Clearly articulate technical ideas, design decisions and solutions to diverse audiences in written and verbal formats while driving consensus.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of software engineering experience building backend or full stack production services.
• Strong skills in a backend language such as C# (.NET) or Java, and a willingness to learn new ones.
• A builder's mindset and a bias for action: take initiative, turn ideas into working software quickly and stay comfortable with ambiguity.
• Curiosity about how AI is reshaping software development and the systems we build.
• Solid grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, multithreading, asynchronous programming and system design basics.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL, including schema design and query performance.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, agile development and writing automated tests.
• Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort working with globally distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with front-end development using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with React or Angular.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or other container technologies.
• Familiarity with GraphQL or data mesh architectures.
• Understanding of LLMs and AI powered API automation.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Azure Monitor.
