Software Engineer II

Overview

Sabre is seeking a Software Engineer to support the LGS team, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The role involves planning, designing, developing and testing software systems and applications for enhancements and new products, including cloud-based and internet-related tools.

What you'll do

• Develop, code, test and debug new complex software solutions or enhancements to existing products.
• Design, plan, develop and improve applications using routine and advanced technology.
• Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
• Implement strategic policies when selecting methods and techniques.
• Encourage high coding standards, using best practices and high-quality code.
• Regularly interact with subordinate supervisors, architects, product managers and HR on projects or team performance.
• Change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations without damaging relationships.
• Provide technical mentorship and cultural/competency-based guidance to teams.
• Provide larger business/product context.
• Mentor on specific tech stacks and technologies.

What you'll need

• Business or Technical/Engineering Master's degree from reputed/accredited universities.
• 2.5+ years of software development experience.
• Highly proficient in Core Java (Java 8+) and J2EE technologies with 2.5+ years of experience.
• Deep understanding of data structures with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Complete understanding of Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming.
• Hands-on experience with open source frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate and EhCache.
• Hands-on experience using software design patterns of GOF, J2EE and related.
• Strong experience in web services development, SOAP and RESTful, using Jersey, Apache Axis, CXF or other frameworks.
• Complete understanding of relational databases (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (Mongo).
• Demonstrated knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven, Gradle and Git.
• Understanding of TDD practices and experience with unit, system and integration testing.
• Strong communication skills in English, written and verbal.
• Experience developing microservices, preferably using Spring Boot.
• Understanding of CI/CD and Jenkins.
• Writing excellent quality code, with a strong hold on JUnit and related frameworks.
• Good understanding of code quality tools such as Veracode and Sonar.
• Strong hold on data structures and multi-threading.
• Self-disciplined and commitment-oriented.
