Job description

Overview

Software Engineer II joining FactSet's AI Foundry - Platform Engineering team to design and develop AI tools, workflows, and agents that support an agentic system and AI-driven financial technology.

What you'll do

Develop high quality and easily maintainable code.
Collaborate with other engineers and the product team as part of a geographically diverse team.
Follow best practices such as code reviews, testing, documentation, and version control.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications and systems.

What you'll need

B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
2-3 years of experience working professionally as a Software Developer building web applications.
Professional experience with JavaScript, ES6, TypeScript, and a modern web framework such as Vue or React.
Strong experience with Node.js and experience working with Node.js services.
Deep understanding of complex systems and an aptitude to learn.
Experience using AI coding assistants as a core part of your development workflow.
Experience with GenAI technologies.

Nice to have

Experience with TypeScript, Vue.js, Angular.js, AWS, and building UI components.
Experience in responsive web design and building responsive websites.
Knowledge of building APIs and data visualizations.
Proficiency in writing unit test cases for frontend components and experience using unit testing frameworks like Vitest or Jest.
Comprehensive understanding and experience of end-to-end (E2E) testing, preferably with tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools.
Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or Agile software development in general.
Experience working with remote teams.
Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices.
Familiarity with MCP, AI agent frameworks, and agentic design patterns.
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and AI SDK integrations.
