Overview

Software Engineer (Platform/Backend) - ClickHouse as a Member of Technical Staff, focused on building and maintaining ClickHouse-backed platform services.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain reliable, reusable, testable code that expands platform services and capabilities.
• Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and code quality issues across application, ingestion, and data layers.
• Drive engineering initiatives with a high-ownership and continuous improvement mindset.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Product Management, Security Engineering, and External Partners to deliver solutions.
• Participate across the software development lifecycle, including testing automation, debugging, deployment, and production support.
• Perform code reviews and ensure coding best practices.

What you'll need

• 2–10 years of experience in software engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with ClickHouse table design and analytical workload features (e.g., sorting key, sparse primary key, partitioning, indexes, materialized views, codecs/compression, TTL).
• Production operation experience with ClickHouse (e.g., distributed cluster design, sharding, ingestion patterns, query profiling, tuning, monitoring with Prometheus/Grafana).
• Strong working experience in Unix/Linux.
• Experience with C#, Go, and Docker.
• Strong DevOps experience including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training.

• Location: Bengaluru, India and Atlanta, USA.
• Work model: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) with candidates residing within a 1-hour commute radius of the office.
• Travel expectations: Up to 20% travel based on business needs.
