Software Engineer - Platform Metal | Ireland | Remote

Overview

Software Engineer for the Platform Metal squad in Grafana Labs, supporting Kubernetes control plane and infrastructure resources for engineering teams.

What you'll do

• Manage the physical “Metal” environment from bare metal to Kubernetes.
• Administer cluster networking components including load balancing, NAT, DNS, CNIs, and routing protocols.
• Handle scheduling and autoscaling for workloads.
• Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for common CSP resources.
• Manage versioning and compatibility for Crossplane and Terraform core and providers.
• Work with Grafana Cloud application teams to understand needs and prioritize capabilities.

What you'll need

• Experience operating your code.
• Datacenter experience.
• Participation in an on-call rotation.
• Comfort working in a remote-first environment.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Knowledge of programming with Go, Python, and Shell.
• Comfort owning the full code lifecycle, from design docs through integration testing.
