Software Engineer- Site Reliability Engineer (8+ Yrs)

Overview

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role on the Cisco IQ team focused on reliability, scalability, and security of cloud platforms.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and optimize cloud and data infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
• Implement SRE practices including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, and fault analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create secure, scalable SaaS solutions and improve operational efficiency via automation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root cause analyses with postmortem-driven improvements.
• Lead architectural direction and influence the technical roadmap and strategy.
• Mentor teams and share technical knowledge to support engineering and operational excellence.

What you'll need

• 8–14+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, public cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and networking/security.
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud, preferably AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code skills, ideally with Terraform and EKS or Kubernetes.
• Observability experience with tools including Splunk, Prometheus (Alertmanager), Grafana, and CloudWatch.
• Understanding of Unix/Linux systems, kernel basics, and client-server protocols.
