Software Engineer, VP

Overview

Join a permanent feature team as a Software Engineer at vice president level, designing, producing, testing and implementing working software across the system lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Develop knowledge of aspects of the associated platform across business, applications, data and infrastructure disciplines.
• Liaise with principal engineers, architects in the domain and other key stakeholders to understand how the platform works and supports business objectives.
• Apply Agile methods to software development on the backlog.
• Produce resilient and long-lived software and act flexibly to cope with future needs.
• Deliver intentional architecture and formulate emergent design through innovative ideas, experimentation and prototyping.
• Design and develop software with a focus on automating build, test and deployment activities using executable patterns.

What you'll need

• At least 12 years of experience in software design and implementation.
• Ability to exploit programming languages to solve complex problems.
• Capability in complex requirements analysis, capture and validation against and with business and systems requirements.
• Experience leading the implementation of programming best practice, especially around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance.
• Expertise in Java, Microservices and AWS Cloud.
• Experience of information security policies and practices within the financial sector.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a simple way.
