Software Engineering Management

Overview

Software Engineering Management role as a hands-on technical lead, managing a small engineering team while contributing to software architecture, coding, and delivery for embedded and web components.

What you'll do

• Write code, contribute to features, debug issues, and drive defect resolution.
• Own and contribute to software architecture and lead design and code reviews.
• Coach engineers in modern C++, embedded systems, multi-threading, profiling, and debugging.
• Directly manage a team of 4–6 software engineers, including goal setting, mentoring, and performance management.
• Remove technical/operational roadblocks, clarify priorities, and allocate work to meet delivery milestones.
• Ensure adherence to the CTCT Software Development Framework (SDF) and run agile ceremonies.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with systems, controls, sensor, and hardware engineering teams.

What you'll need

• 8–12+ years of total software development experience.
• 2+ years in formal technical leadership or engineering management roles.
• Strong, hands-on C++ development for embedded Linux environments.
• Deep understanding of embedded systems, concurrency, multi-threading, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with high-accuracy positioning and sensor technologies (GNSS, IMU, Laser, Optical, Sonic).
• High proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and structured code review workflows.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
