Overview
Software Engineering MTS role focused on building end-to-end web applications, APIs, and microservices for Trailhead’s digital learning experience.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain end-to-end web applications, robust APIs, and microservices for global collaboration products.
- Own and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS, including CI/CD pipeline optimization.
- Use AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate development, prototyping, and problem-solving.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions for reuse, code management, security, performance, scalability, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and UX designers to deliver features.
- Operate in a hybrid engineering model with ownership of code quality, automated testing, and release management.
What you'll need
- Hands-on understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
- Experience setting up, maintaining, and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep understanding of web fundamentals including HTTP/HTTPS, REST principles, browser rendering, DOM, and security basics (CORS/CSRF).
- Proven experience designing, building, and consuming scalable APIs and microservices.
- Strong CS fundamentals including OOP, data structures, algorithms, system performance, and database fundamentals (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
- Ability to work across full-stack systems and troubleshoot end-to-end problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for pitching technical solutions.
Nice to have
- Active experience using AI-driven tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT.
- Experience with containerization and deployment platforms (Docker, Heroku, or Kubernetes).
- Practical knowledge of test-driven development (TDD), automated testing frameworks, and accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with modern web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js/Express, or Python.
