Overview
Staff Software Engineer providing technical leadership for design, development, and scaling of core SaaS backend systems, with hands-on Node.js (TypeScript) expertise and architectural ownership.
What you'll do
- Lead design and implementation of distributed backend systems using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Architect integrations via REST/GraphQL APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
- Oversee database architecture across PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization.
- Implement production readiness practices including caching, memory management, OWASP security, and latency optimization.
- Define cloud-native deployment strategies and drive container/IaC standards (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
- Own architecture blueprints, technical design documents, and migration plans; act as DRI for major efforts.
What you'll need
- 6 to 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep TypeScript and Node.js server-side development.
- Experience with Node.js frameworks such as NestJS, Express, or Fastify.
- Strong knowledge of DDD, microservices patterns, and event-driven architecture.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including indexing, transactions, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI), and AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Advocacy for testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Supertest) and TDD practices.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
