Software Specialist

Overview

Software Specialist role on Nasdaq's Market Platform organization in the Bangalore technology center, designing, building and maintaining software solutions that power Nasdaq's market platforms.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications for Nasdaq's market platform.
• Write clean, well-tested code and conduct code reviews to ensure quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and engineering best practices.
• Support integration of platform components with internal and external systems.

What you'll need

• 5 to 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++).
• Experience with RESTful API design.
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a team environment.
• Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Computer Science.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with financial markets or trading platforms.
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.

• Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
• Works closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.
