Job description

Overview

Lead sophisticated publication programmes, setting publication strategy and guiding scientific narratives built on multi-study and real-world datasets, based at Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru.

What you'll do

  • Provide end-to-end scientific and delivery leadership for sophisticated, strategically critical, or high-risk publication programmes, resolving approaches in ambiguous scenarios and aligning multiple workstreams.
  • Lead writing and guide review for research papers and symposium content involving multi-study, pooled, indirect-comparison, epidemiological, and health-economic evidence.
  • Set the document and evidence strategy for combined data evaluations, detailed analyses, post-hoc assessments, HEOR, and epidemiology publications.
  • Challenge assumptions, evaluate analytical choices, and advise on scientifically sound communication of efficacy, safety, real-world evidence, and health economics.
  • Direct submission and resubmission strategies for high-priority or challenging publications, including responses to reviewer concerns, authorship issues, and editorial queries.
  • Resolve visual approaches for unfamiliar or integrated datasets and establish standards for clear, responsible figures.
  • Interpret and apply Good Publication Practice, ICMJE guidance, and internal policies, acting as the escalation point for authorship, disclosure, visibility, and data-integrity matters.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to publication leaders, authors, investigators, external experts, and cross-functional teams, influencing decisions without direct authority.
  • Coach Publication Writers and Senior Publication Writers on scientific and operational challenges and design learning interventions.
  • Establish and evolve standards, review frameworks, and decision tools for sophisticated publications, and provide expert oversight for high-risk deliverables.
  • Identify and sponsor opportunities for AI, automation, and new publication approaches, leading pilots and scaling successful solutions responsibly.
  • Build deep expertise in assigned disease areas and translate knowledge into strategic advice and knowledge sharing.

What you'll need

  • Master's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacology, public health or a related discipline.
  • Six to ten years of medical or scientific writing experience, including demonstrated leadership of complex manuscripts and congress disclosures.
  • Advanced understanding of clinical research methods, biostatistics, publication ethics and relevant standards, including Good Publication Practice and ICMJE guidance.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex analyses and communicate scientific evidence clearly, accurately and persuasively.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and organisational skills, with the ability to lead multiple high-priority deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, reference-management tools, publication-management platforms such as iEnvision and data-visualisation standards.
  • Working knowledge of authorship criteria, data transparency and sharing requirements, journal and congress systems, and development of training content.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, MD or MPH, or a recognised qualification in medical writing or communications.
  • Experience leading integrated disclosures, including pooled analyses, meta-analyses, health economics and outcomes research, and coordinating multi-author manuscripts through acceptance.
  • Knowledge of one or more relevant therapeutic areas, including Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism; Respiratory and Immunology; Vaccines; and Immune Therapies.
  • Experience collaborating with investigators, external experts and multidisciplinary teams and engaging with journal editors or congress secretariats.

  • Career level D2.
