Specialist - Procurement

Overview

Specialist – Procurement role in Chennai, India, to process purchase orders quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment and support stakeholders while meeting performance targets.

What you'll do

• Issue POs to vendors in a timely manner, follow up for order confirmation, and coordinate on-time payment to suppliers
• Coordinate with vendors for actual delivery status of material
• Complete the Open Purchase Order Report and Shortage Report on time for review
• Execute core procurement processes efficiently and accurately for assigned products
• Meet or exceed desired service levels and inventory targets for assigned products, validated through procurement metrics
• Coordinate with the internal business partner (requestor) and supplier for purchase order changes
• Select suppliers for new orders in accordance with approved purchasing strategies
• Manage the supplier database
• Identify, recommend and implement operational efficiencies for continuous improvement in procurement processes
• Perform root cause analysis to expedite resolution of service issues
• Prepare customized reports to analyze and incorporate process improvements

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree or Engineering graduate
• 5-8 years of experience (Procurement / Supply Chain experience preferred)
• Mandatory knowledge of computer software applications, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint (PF)
• Excellent communication skills (mandatory)
• Experience in order processing, supply chain management, order management, and end-to-end procurement (preferred)
• Knowledge of ERP, preferably BAAN
• Experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably electronics
• Knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook
• Good analytical skills
