Sr. Applications Developer

Overview

Experienced PowerBuilder Developer role to develop, enhance, maintain and support enterprise applications, working closely with business, technical and support teams.

What you'll do

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support applications using the PowerBuilder framework.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and modify PowerBuilder applications and components.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Work with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Perform application debugging, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
• Participate in application modernization, enhancement, and migration initiatives where required.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, architects, and other engineering teams.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development and coding standards.
• Develop and execute unit tests and support system and integration testing.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in release and deployment activities.
• Provide L2/L3 production support and ensure timely resolution of critical incidents.
• Identify opportunities to improve application performance, stability, maintainability, and user experience.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise applications.
• Strong expertise in PowerBuilder, SQL, and relational databases.
• Good understanding of application development and production support processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with PowerBuilder upgrades or migration to newer versions.
• Experience with PowerBuilder DataWindow and complex UI development.
• Exposure to REST/SOAP APIs and application integrations.
• Experience with application modernization or migration from legacy technologies.
• Knowledge of .NET, Java, or other modern application technologies.
• Experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.
