Sr. Associate I, Research & Development Process & Product Design

Overview

Senior Associate I supporting sustaining engineering for electrical and electronic systems in ophthalmic medical devices. The role focuses on product continuity, compliance, performance, and lifecycle support rather than new product or circuit design.

What you'll do

• Test boards, troubleshoot issues, review schematics, investigate failures, and update technical documentation.
• Assess engineering changes for risk, compliance, verification, and implementation readiness.
• Perform root cause analysis for field, manufacturing, and service-related electrical issues.
• Evaluate component changes, obsolescence, supplier impacts, and material compliance requirements.
• Support design control, technical file, product complaint, and risk management activities.
• Perform engineering assessments including derating, tolerance analysis, signal integrity, manufacturability, and EMC/EMI analysis.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in medical device sustaining engineering, product support engineering, or product development.
• Knowledge of electronic boards, wiring, power supplies, sensors, and electrical interfaces.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with moderate autonomy and follow defined processes.
• Effective communication and collaboration across global, cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting embedded electronic systems.
• Proficiency with PLM and requirements tools such as Windchill, Polarion, or Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles and interface management.
• Exposure to surgical or ophthalmic medical devices.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 60601 series requirements.

• Location: Bangalore, India.
• Work hours: 1 PM to 10 PM IST.
