R&D Associate Engineer

Overview

R&D Associate Engineer supporting ABB’s R&D team in the Motion business IEC LV Motors division.

What you'll do

• Support innovative technology, software, and solutions aligned with strategic technology direction.
• Create special mechanical designs using 2D and 3D modeling for engineered-to-order projects.
• Review mechanical bill of materials accuracy with project engineers for component ordering.
• Perform tolerance and mechanical stress analysis as needed.
• Ensure designs meet relevant technical standards and customer specifications.
• Support mechanical designs for new product introductions and address manufacturing concerns.

What you'll need

• B.E or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-6 years of experience in R&D or Engineering.
• Experience with electrical rotating machines design.
• Exposure in electrical rotating machines with R&D or Engineering.
• Technical proficiency in electrical motor design topics (e.g., induction motors, testing/validation, insulation system, electromagnetics).
• Solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
