Overview
PwC is seeking a TCS BaNCS Functional Tester focused on payments and advisory. The role involves functional testing across payment journeys, interfaces, messaging, reconciliation, defect management, and release support.
What you'll do
- Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and payment workflows within TCS BaNCS.
- Prepare and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Validate payment initiation, processing, status updates, exception handling, and reconciliation flows.
- Test interfaces and message-based payment flows, including SWIFT and ISO 20022, where applicable.
- Create and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test data, requirements traceability, and test evidence.
- Log, analyse, prioritise, track, retest, and support closure of defects in coordination with business, development, and product teams.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), release-readiness activities, and production validation.
- Provide clear test status reporting, highlight risks and dependencies, and support stakeholder discussions.
What you'll need
- Up to 6 years of functional testing experience in banking or payments.
- Strong understanding of payment processing and transaction lifecycles.
- Experience with reconciliation and exception management.
- Experience with API, file-based, or message-based interface testing.
- Hands-on exposure to TCS BaNCS Payments modules.
- Experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Ability to create test scenarios, test cases, test data, and requirements traceability.
- Experience with defect logging, triage, retesting, and closure management.
- Good analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Mandatory skill set: GCC Consultant.
- Required experience: 4-8 years.
- Required education: Bachelor of Engineering or MBA (Master of Business Administration).
- Required skills: Technology Business Management.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of SWIFT messages and ISO 20022.
- Exposure to domestic and cross-border payments.
- Experience with test management tools such as Jira, ALM, or Azure DevOps.
- Preferred skill set: GCC Consultant.
