Sr. Data Scientist

Overview

Senior Data Scientist to build and maintain statistical and ML/AI solutions for AML & Sanctions Compliance, supporting sanctions screening.

What you'll do

• Conduct large-scale data analysis from business goals through actionable outputs.
• Hands-on query, analyze, and implement optimization solutions.
• Build and enhance sanctions screening models using rules-based and fuzzy matching methods.
• Tune thresholds and scoring logic to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.
• Define, test, and monitor features for matching/scoring logic and model performance.
• Support user acceptance testing and respond to ad hoc stakeholder enquiries.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, or data mining.
• At least 5 years of experience in ML model development using tools like SAS, SQL, Python/R, Hive, and/or Spark.
• Expertise in sanctions screening and name-matching with rules-based or statistical models.
• Experience with AI techniques including machine learning and natural language processing.
• Database management, data extraction, and data manipulation skills.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
