Sr. Director Product Management

Overview

Senior product leadership role within Capital One Software in India, leading product vision and a team of product managers to build data management and protection products for an AI-first world.

What you'll do

• Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy for your area of responsibility.
• Partner with business and technology leadership to align on prioritization of key problems to be solved to maximize business and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate with teams in India and USA to drive alignment with different teams working on the platform.
• Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
• Responsible for a team of directly reporting product managers.
• Maintain a healthy backlog of work and play a critical role in many agile ceremonies.
• Support the team with escalation and resolution of impediments.
• Serve as the connection between customers, Capital One's mission, and your team.
• Work backwards from customers and define the precise problem being solved.
• Lead engineering teams to build impactful products that delight customers.
• Recruit, develop, and motivate an exceptional product team.
• Influence end-state architecture with technology leaders and drive secure, resilient, performant and scalable technology solutions.
• Make technology investment decisions, assessing reuse of Enterprise solutions or building new ones with extensibility and enterprise scalability in mind.
• Influence senior executives across the enterprise and deliver the portfolio/product vision.
• Establish a long-term product portfolio strategy informed by customer and business needs.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• At least 16 years of experience, with a focus on product management across software engineering or machine learning products.
• At least 8 years of experience in digital product management.
• At least 5 years of experience in people management.
• At least 5 years of experience leading multiple teams within an agile environment.
• At least 3 years of experience managing other managers including talent development, performance management, team building and succession planning.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or MBA.
• 8+ years of experience in Agile product management.
• 8+ years of experience translating business strategy and analysis into actionable platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience guiding the product direction or development of machine learning powered platforms or applications.
